We sent out the birth announcements about a month ago, but I completely forgot to post the picture here too. This picture was taken when Emily was a mere two weeks old! And now she's 11 weeks old! Wow, time is just flying.
I'm happy to report that she's doing very well. Our only complaint is the amount of spit up she creates. It seems Nick and I are destined to produced children who spit up half of what they eat. Kaylee did too. Luckily we produce "happy spitters" that gain weight at an acceptable rate. Oh, and also on the lucky side, we have wood floors so the mess isn't too bad to clean.
The three of us have adapted fairly well to having a fourth addition to the family. Kaylee is more patient, doing more things all by herself (like putting on her clothes), and is growing more fond of Emily in general. The transition was probably most difficult for her. Then there's me, I think I'd be completely adapted if only Emily slept a bit more. It seems Nick and I also produce non-napping children. Kaylee never really napped and Emily doesn't really nap either (unless she's being carried). This week Emily has started sleeping for a 5 - 6 hour stretch at night, which is so great (hopefully I'm not jinxing it by writing about). Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Let's see, what else...I started working again this week. The same part-time schedule as previously. I guess that's about covers it.
Oh and I'd like to randomly share our jack-o-lantern for this year. Kaylee had a great time "scooping out the guts." She kept yelling "look, I'm scooping guts!" She also picked out the design, which ironically I think was the same design for last year's jack-o-lantern.
The picture is a bit fuzzy because I took it with my phone, which brings me to another random tidbit. I was asked a while back if we used a fancy lens for taking Kaylee's birthday party pictures. We do have a fairly fancy lens, but it's a "normal" lens. The pretty effects on the birthday party photos were done in light room, a piece of software used for picture post processing.
And seeing as I'm on a complete random streak, let me just share that I am so excited to run my first post preggo race on Thanksgiving! Like really, really, excited... ;)

My first 3 were projectile spitters for a yr. Ruined our carpets. I kept waiting for number 4 to spit and he never did! So there is hope. Keep having kids and eventually you will get one that doesn't spit. (Of course that was the same logic I used to try and get a girl, but I gave up before I got one!)
Guess what? I am training for another marathon! I will write about it on y blog eventually.
