This last week, posting fell by the wayside. With my abundance of free time (joking), I decided to revamp our personal blog. Why? That's a good question. I don't know, I just did. First, the blog just had to have three columns. Once the three columns were there, they didn't look that great...so back to two columns. Then I thought, oh wouldn't it be cool to make the post column wider. That didn't look so great either. Back to the thinner post column width. Now I'm thinking about just changing the color scheme and background, but haven't made any final decisions. Don't get me wrong I like the general layout of our blog, I just felt like spicing it up. Unfortunately, an HTML expert I'm not, and therefore all the experimentation can be time consuming. Hence, the lack of posting this week. Oh well! It was fun though. Like a puzzle, but cooler. Too bad it didn't yield anything interesting. And of course, all my banter on revamping blogs really has nothing to do with this post.As you've probably guessed from the picture and post title, we've plunged into the wonderful world of music and bought an electric guitar! Nick has had an interest in learning how to play guitar for as long as I've known him. A couple weeks ago I finally said we should buy one. We did the research (our due diligence) and settled on a Fender Stratocaster and a super duper tube amp. Nick has been practicing everyday! He loves it.
All Nick's interest in the guitar made me suddenly remember my interest in the piano. We have a piano that my grandmother generously gave me when I was in college, but I never play it (and don't remember how to). We went to the book store and bought a beginners book and printed some sheet music, so now I've started practicing piano again. It's so silly that I haven't been playing all along. I really do enjoy it (even if I'm not very good). Kaylee likes the piano too. She likes to sit on my lap and slap all the keys!
Oh, I also have some video of Nick playing the guitar, but I dare not post it! He said it might make him turn green (you know like Bruce Banner when he gets mad). Yeah, that would be bad.

Hi Katie,
I am so thrilled to learn that you are playing the piano again. You find that you really never forget how to do it. I have kind of stopped playing but I think I will go back to playing a little something every day.
Love,
Gram
That's awesome if we've inspired you to start playing again. I know you still play well though...I heard you on Christmas Eve. And Kaylee thought it was great too, which is why she kept saying "more more." :)
