From the Faraway Land of Seattle...

Nick's Uncle Harold and Aunt Ethel recently took the long arduous journey from the mystical and faraway land of Seattle to visit family and friends here in the land of Massachusetts! We joined the family for a fun afternoon of apple picking at Tousgas Farm on Columbus Day. It was probably the worst visit to Tougas we've had yet. The crowds were just overwhelming, making conversation and visiting with family difficult. The visit was still fun though. Everyone was impressed with the only pumpkin tree in existence. Seems people make long journeys simply to have their picture taken with the great pumpkin tree, or at least it seemed that way to me as there was a long line for pics with the tree. The family (mostly grandma I suspect) wanted to take Kaylee's picture in front of said tree. Now Kaylee, who runs at the camera like a Tasmanian devil whenever Nick and I try to take pictures of her, was happy to oblige and cut everyone patiently awaiting their turn in the process. She was also happy to sit next to a family of complete strangers. Of course, I swooped her up. Then tried to explain there was a line, which she definitely didn't understand, but was happy to wait for my okay cue before she went storming up a second time.

We were a little disappointed that we didn't get to visit more with Uncle Harold and Aunt Ethel at Tsougas, but had the opportunity later in the week when they came to Nick's mom's. Here are some photos courtesy of Nick. I know there were lots of family events we didn't attend. If anyone has links to other photos from other events feel free to place them in the comments. If you email us photos we'd also be happy to add them to SmugMug. Also feel free to share funny stories in the comments (and I know there must have been some funny moments with so many events going on). We'd love to hear them!

I love how in so many of the pictures of you and Kaylee, you are standing off to the side and letting her do her thing. I know it sounds silly, but it's so you - standing nearby to see what she's going to do and being there if she needs help, but being willing to let her figure things out on her own! She is going to be one amazing woman when she grows up because of that!!
