Kaylee is big on books. Any book will do for her, and once she's decided she likes a book she wants us to read it over and over. And over again. For this reason, Nick and I have started looking for children books that we like too (and then we buy them). We don't mind reading them several hundred times a week if they're interesting. Little people really dig repetition, eh? Or maybe it's just our little person? Anyway, here are three of more recent favorites. We've read these books so many times that Kaylee recites parts of them to us sometimes.

For Halloween we found,
Boris and Bella
by Carolyn Crimi. This story is so cute! It starts with "Bella is the messiest monster in Booville. Her slime was the slimiest. Her grime was the grimiest." Boris of course is the tidiest monster in Booville. There's lots of strain between Boris and Bella before they finally become friends. Aaahhhh. The illustrations are great too. Overall, an awesome book to read over and over.

For Thanksgiving,
T Is for Turkey
by Tanya Lee Stone is a cool Thanksgiving poem that goes through the alphabet. "A is for the American story our school play will tell. Some myths we'll set straight. Other facts you know well." It even notes that Turkey is a more recent tradition. A nice book for Thanksgiving that we haven't minded reading multiple times.

Our most recent addition is
How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
by Dr. Seuss. There are a number of Dr. Seuss books we enjoy. Besides the Grinch, topping the list is probably Yurtle the Turtle. The Grinch is a fun classic. Kaylee's favorite line is "leaving crumbs in the other Who's houses that were too small for the other Who's mouses." Not sure why that line really sticks with her, but she runs around the house saying it.

Dr. Seuss is the man! That book never grows old. Has she seen the DVD yet?
