Oh my...we have been woefully negligent of our family adventure blog! A lot has been going on, but if you want my brutally honest assessment of our posting absence, I'd have to go with laziness. I've just been tired and so NKK has been summarily ignored by me. Okay, I'm going to give you some short snippets of the last two months...

Mark and Alexis visited the family over Christmas and New Year's. Here's a cool picture we got of them with Kaylee on New Year's day. In case you don't already know, Mark, my brother, is almost done with helicopter pilot training in the Marine Corp. Oh also, New Year's day is Nick's birthday. Happy super belated birthday honey! I love you!

Kaylee took her first visit to the Boston Children's Museum! We spent the entire time playing in the "ball room." At least that's what I'm calling it. It's a room filled with all kinds of mechanical devices and golf balls. She liked it. A lot. We will definitely have to go back again soon...

Nick received a promotion at work! Go Nick go! A big enough promotion that warrants his very own office no less. This, of course, means that I have been asked to vacate the premises. No worries though. I'm so popular that I had other engineers just begging me to be their office mates. :)

I've been running some races with my mom. We ran a 5K together 4 weeks ago and a half marathon two weeks ago. I loved the half marathon. It was a great course and a great day for running and my mom ran a personal record. Woo hoo!

We've been getting Kaylee ready for her big girl room. We have a bed and most of the furniture. She's been helping pick out the decorations. As a result, the room will be a bit eclectic, but super cute, if I do say so myself. We have some pooh bear stickers up, but she has been consistent in the desire to have some Nemo stickers too. We couldn't find the Nemo stickers anywhere, so we've ordered them from Amazon and are awaiting their arrival.

Nick has been taking guitar lessons for the last month. Something I suggested. (I'm patting myself on the back here.) Prior to the lessons he was practicing almost every night, but there's only so far you can go on your own without some guidance. This frustrated him. Therefore, I gently prodded him towards lessons. It's going well. I've noted a marked improvement in his playing.

Kaylee has been using the potty more often. She uses the potty 30-50% of the time. The real obstacle in using the potty is in my own laziness and her happiness to just pee or poop in her diaper. We're pretty relaxed about the whole thing though. When she does pee in the potty, there's a whole potty dance she likes to do. It's hilarious! She runs around in her bare butt, clapping her hands, and yelling "yeah, Kaylee went in the potty!" It's very entertaining.

Oh and I'm 14 weeks pregnant...that's probably why I've been tired. ;) We've been waiting to announce the big news, but it has been soooo hard! I like to tell everyone everything whenever something happens. So something as big as being pregnant was super hard for me to keep quiet about, but the doctor suggested we wait until the end of the first trimester. (By the way, this isn't our ultrasound picture. We had an ultrasound done at 9 weeks, but haven't had time to scan it.) We're super excited and hopefully I can post more info soon.

Such great pics! And glad all is well with the baby to be and you! Congrats again!
Congratulations!!!!! Here is the crazy thing-- I was running this morning and thinking about you, and wondering if/when you would be having another kid and what you would do with your running at that point!! I am actually a little freaked out at my mental telepathy skills!
