Our teenage toddler

Often when we take pictures of Kaylee now, I can see the teenager that Kaylee will become. It's crazy. How she has a fashion style all her own, how she expresses herself with words, and how she holds herself. I can see the teenager inside! And look at how big she's getting! It's so hard to believe!

Over the last month or so, Kaylee has made some huge strides to becoming a "big kid." Just don't tell her that. For whatever reason, she doesn't like me tell her she's a big kid. She much prefers to be my Bebe Bebe (my affectionate nick name for her). Anyway, she's been sleeping in her big kid bed for about month now with no issues. Sigh of relief. I was nervous about the new sleeping arrangements. But she adjusted just fine. The bed bumper thingy we have seems to work fairly well too, although I don't feel comfortable with it unless it's under the sheet or covers and it's tucked in.

We've also made huge huge strides in the potty training arena. I finally one day just decided to put her in pull-ups (versus diapers) and she was maaaddd. Yeah, she's not always so fond of change. But after the first time she was fine. The first day we had four accidents with the pull-ups. The second day there were two accidents. The next six or seven days there was one accident per day, and the last six days no accidents! This doesn't include night time. I figure I'll deal with night time once the day time is all taken care of. I am so relieved we've made some progress. My mother keeps telling me that she's never heard of a 20 year that's not potty trained so we shouldn't fret, but we know someone at work who has a perfectly normal 4.5 year old that absolutely refuses to be potty trained. That. is. my. nightmare. Luckily, I think we'll be okay. Kaylee seems happy to use and ask to use the potty now, even when we're out shopping. Thank goodness!

In short, our baby girl is getting big! Sometimes she even says she doesn't need me to sing her to sleep anymore. After Nick reads her stories, I usually sing to her for a few minutes, then she goes to bed. But now she sometimes asks to go right to bed; I was shocked! I seriously thought I might be singing to her until she was a teenager!

She really is cute.

Don't even worry about the night dry thing. Just stick her in pull ups. My 3 yr old has been potty trained for over a year, and still soaks a pull up at night. No biggie.

Potty trained and sleeping in a big bed! 2 huge steps!
