Last week was Kaylee's first time in a big person pool. She looks so serious in the picture because she was unhappy that I forced her to get out to let her warm up a bit. Her teeth were chattering! The whole pool experience sort of blew me away. This particular pool is advertised as toddler friendly and claims to sport a shallow end that is only 1.5 feet deep. The advertisement would have you believe that there's a whole section of pool for little people. Not so. The first step off the stairs is 1.5 feet deep, but then immediately goes straight to 2 feet, then three feet, and so on. I was a little disappointed because there wasn't much space for Kaylee to meander around. What really shocked me, however, was Kaylee. She has got to be one of the most cautious toddlers I've ever run across. Not so in the pool. She kept trying to run into the deeper side of the pool and she didn't want to be held. Weird. She also kept sticking her face in the water. At first I thought maybe she was having trouble, but she wasn't. She was just sticking her face in the water for kicks. The last few days I keep hearing about the pool. She REALLY liked it. We'll have to go back again soon. I think we'll need to look into life vests though. Her trying to run off into deep water sorta freaks me out.

Kaylee received a t-ball set for her birthday, so while Nick was doing some yard work on Saturday I took out the set and let her have at it. She likes the bat. And hitting stuff with it. I tried to show her how to hold it with two hands and hit the ball, but she looked at me and said in all earnestness, "no mommy only one hand." Now this is funny because she has trouble holding the bat steady with two hands, and with one hand she can barely lift it to the height of the ball. Oh, and where did she ever get the idea that baseball was played one handed! Lol. I don't know, but she had a lot fun, and was particularly impressed when daddy whacked the ball a few times.

Sunday I decided it was time to introduce Kaylee to painting. I took the easy way out. We picked up some washable finger paints and bought some brushes. Strange I know, but finger paints with brushes is definitely easier to deal with than finger paints with fingers. At least when you have a Kaylee toddler. She had a great time. Except now she thinks you have to fold all your paintings in half. I folded one picture in half to show how it made the painting look, and then she made me fold each picture in half when we finished. I tried to explain that it's not a requirement in painting, but she disagreed.

Wow, sounds like like a great week. Just what a girl her age needs, tons of fun and new things to see and do! Love the pics.

Hey, where is the pink Boston Red Sox cap? I think it will go nicely with the tee ball set.
