Because Nick had to travel for work this week, we wanted to give his mom, whose birthday is June 10, her present over the weekend. Saturday afternoon we had Chinese food, cake, and Kaylee helped open the present. She was particularly interested in the gift bag, and spent much of the afternoon placing toys inside the bag so that she could then retrieve them. Kaylee repeated the process over and over, which was funny because her little arms had trouble reaching the bottom. She also made an earnest effort to reposition the tissue paper back into the bag, but wasn’t quite able to accomplish the task so she settled for locating it on top. The whole episode was quite fascinating to watch. I wish we had been able to film it. She does something similar with her car seat. Maybe I’ll try to take some video of that, and see if I can post it.
Sunday I ran my first road race in over three years! The last race I ran was either the Mt. Washington Road Race or the Disney Half Marathon; both were long before I was pregnant. This was just a typical 5K that started from Emerson Hospital, but it was a convenient first race after taking such a long break. I was hoping to run a little faster than I did, but it was also a warm and humid. I’m contemplating on training for the Baystate Marathon, which is in the middle of October. We’ll see.

How quickly you forget my dear! What about the road race we ran last St. Pattys day at that Irish Pub--- you were preggers and taking it easy and I was still struggling to keep up! Sounds like you had a good weekend.
