Difficult as it is to admit, there are times we'll go to the mall just so that we can get out of the house. The food court is also the only place Kaylee is agreeable to eating. We took her to Chile's once, and apparently she mistook the restaurant for some new form of baby torture. I have yet to figure out what the difference is between an actual restaurant and the food court (from a Kaylee perspective). It's certainly not the food because we bring Kaylee her own food wherever we go.
Ah, but that's not really the point of this story...We were in the mall a few weeks ago and a lady stopped us. I'm going to guess that she was in her 60's. Appearance-wise, she looked like other women her age, but this one was special. Because people always seem to be attracted to Kaylee, we assumed the "excuse me" had something to do with her. People always want to know her age, or comment on her smile, or her eyes. But this time we were utterly shocked when the woman wanted to ask Nick where he bought his AC/DC t-shirt!
And the shock doesn't end there. She explained how she bought her teenage grandson an AC/DC t-shirt, and in return "he put some AC/DC music on her ipod that she could rock out on." She was obviously doing laps around the mall for exercise and had an ipod with her; she then informed us she was currently listening to Thunderstruck which was one of her favorites. (I didn't know what she was talking about, but Nick was really impressed.) And, of course, she wanted to know where else she could get such t-shirts for her grandson! Amazing! Not only did she know enough about her grandson to get him an AC/DC shirt, but he WANTED to share his music with her!
As we were walking away, Nick whispered, "wow that lady is really cool." What's the lesson here? You don't have to be crazy young to be hip. I hope I'm as cool when I'm in my 60's. Heck, I'd settle for being that cool now.
Trying to have fun on Tuesdays

Being back at work full-time can be difficult. I'm still working from home
on Tuesdays though, and since I often wind up working more than eight hours
duri...
