What's the Thanksgiving Plan?

Thanksgiving is going to be AWESOME! For one, I don't have to cook. And two, I get to run! Yay! Early in the morning I'll be sneaking away to run a 5K with my parents. I'm excited for my mom because it's her first 5K. I'm not too sure how I'll do though. I've been having some IT band issues. I've been working hard to rest it and stretch, but my first test run will be at the race. Yeah I know, not a particularly ideal scenario. Whatever, I'm just going to go with it and see how it goes. Oh, and all finishers get their very own pie! It doesn't get much better than that: pie at the finish line!

After the race, we'll be heading over to Mike & Kristin's place for the big meal. I'm pretty sure Kaylee is going to love their greyhounds. It'll be like having two ponies around to her. So even if we didn't eat anything, I think the visit would be a tremendous success. BUT we will be eating...my contribution is going to be appetizers in the form of cheese & crackers and an artichoke dip with bagel chips. As well as, a dill cucumber salad. OK, I know I got off really easy this year, but the downside to not cooking is no leftovers! Sniff, sniff...

Friday is going to be great too. We've started a tradition of decorating the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, and it's a lot of fun. And no, we will not be shopping on Friday. I hate shopping. Never mind at 4:00 am, with a bunch of other crazed people willing to punch, kick, and whatever else to get a great deal. That can only lead to increased blood pressure. And it could make me more aggressive than usual (not a sight to behold). Don't get me wrong, I love the deals. I'm just not willing to make the sacrifice for them. Instead, if I feel motivated to get some Christmas shopping done, I'll turn on that computer with a nice relaxing cup of tea and shop online. Ahh, it already sounds nice to me...

We hope you all have an outstanding Thanksgiving!

Total drag about the IT band. My friend had to drop out of the NYC marathon beacuse of that issue. The turkey day race sounds fun though! Wish I could run in one. Good luck for a pain free run!
