The Small Things

Diet Foodie mentioned a cool little blog post idea. The name of the game is to list six unimportant things that make you happy. That's right unimportant things, you know the small things. Those little joys that you sometimes forget to appreciate. Like smelling the roses. Yeah, sort of a lame cliche, but aptly appropriate. I thought about it and here's what I came up with:

1. Feeding Renji, my work fishy. He protects my desk when I'm not around the office. You never know what your officemate might be doing when you're not looking. (Just joking Nick.) ;)

2. Sending Nick random photos I take with my iphone and adding silly captions like "dueling robots aim to destroy the little people garage." I love my iphone. It's the coolest.

3. The Dunkin Donuts drive-through when Kaylee opts to take an unexpected snooze in the car. Mmmm, french vanilla coffee with creme.

4. Sharing homemade popcorn and netflix with Nick on a relaxing Saturday evening after the munchkin has gone off to bed.

5. When Kaylee decides it's time to dance to ipod music. Seriously. She's just so cute, that sometimes I wonder where she came from!

6. Nice running weather and the opportunity to take advantage of it! That reminds me, it's time to go running!

Can you think of a small unimportant thing that makes you happy? If so, feel free to leave us comment! We'd love to hear about it!

Thanks for making the list of the unimportant things that make you happy. It was a great list.

Hopefully the rain will hold off and you can get in a run today.

1) Going for an icecream whenever my husband tells me he wants one.

2) Going for a walk everyday with my co-workers at lunch.

3) Getting my daily phone call at lunch(for the past 30 years) and having my husband say, "hi toots, how ya doin".

4)Having Mary, Joan, or Bev call me out of the blue and say, I've been thinking about you. How is everything?

5) Planning my next trip to Florida.

6) Having Kaylee tell me to do something for her.

Kristin: No problem, it was fun. I'm not sure anyone even knew that I had a fish at work!

Mom: Nice list! Number 6 is funny. Kaylee can be a bit pushy. We're still working on her manners!
