Yesterday it happened. I had my 30th birthday and entered into the third decade of my life! Phew, that's just crazy. Actually I don't care too much about milestone birthdays. I guess the biggest change is that I can no longer say I'm a 20 something. Sniff, sniff. Oh what am I talking about, I never said that anyway! A few people have asked if I feel old now. My reply? A resounding NO! Most things are about the same as they were when I was in college. I run slower than I did then, but I don't train as hard either so there you go. Also, have a baby now, but that's no reason to feel old.The best part of turning 30 was getting to plan out the whole day! Nick took the day off, which was very cool. I began the day with some great presents (nice cloths and Bolt on Bluray). Then I was off for a nice leisurely 12.7 mile run at 8:07 pace. Ah, it was nice, and the coolest part was happening upon my parents driving by. My dad was yelling out the window "how does it feel to be an old lady?" While my mom was shouting, "We love you!" They must have known I'd be running. It's the only explanation for why they were driving around looking for me. Pretty sweet, right?
After running, we went to the DeCordova museum, which is fast becoming a favorite of ours. We ate lunch in the quaint cafe, and then wandered around the sculpture park for a couple hours. Kaylee loves walking around outside. And Nick had an opportunity to play with our new zoom lens. He took some great pics (see below). It was the perfect day, mid 50s and sunny. Doesn't get much better than that.
We finished up the day with takeout sushi. Well, I only eat the fake sushi. You know maki rolls that don't actually have anything raw in them. Very yummy. Once the munchkin was tucked into bed, we watched a movie of my choosing, The Mirror has Two Faces. Oh and Nick surprised me with a little chocolate birthday cake and star candles!
