Okay back to my little world of running. Last week was nice. I even got to do a longer run (not marathon distance mind you)! I'm planning to run a half-marathon at the end of May, so sneaking in a distance run was nice. Planning long runs around a toddler is definitely the most challenging aspect of training for me. Not to mention that Nick and I actually like to spend time together on the weekends, and that makes going off for a few hours to run really hard.
I was so excited to be running a little more distance, I may have pushed it a little hard. My lower back was a little sore and I felt a bit tired the next day. Oh, and in case you missed my birthday post, that run was on my birthday. So I sort of wanted to run well. :)
My next race is a 5K planned for this Sunday. I'm a little nervous. I don't run many races, and like to set stretch goals. This leads to nervousness and butterflies. My goal is to break 21 minutes, which is a stretch. Many moons ago, breaking 21 minutes was easy, but not so anymore. Anyway, I think it will be fun. My parents have gotten into the racing scene recently, and they plan to run too. I'll be sure to post how we did next Tuesday!
Here's where I share last week's training:
Monday: 7.25 mile run at 9:14 pace (pushing the munchkin along)
Tuesday: 4 mile run at 8:38 pace
Wednesday: 5K row in 20:09
Thursday: 12.7 run at 8:09 pace
Friday: Off
Saturday: 7.25 mile run at 9:33 pace (again pushing the munchkin)
Sunday: 7.25 mile run at 9:23 pace (of course I brought the munchkin)

21 minutes, that's a fantastic goal! You can do it! And your friend in Boston, wowza, those are my dream numbers - don't think I'll ever hit them in reality but sure is good to know someone can lol!
