Kaylee wanted to take daddy to some far off paradise. Hmm, Hawaii? Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a tad. Her exact words were "the aquarium." I suspect, however, that she had a hidden agenda. I suggested we visit a whole new mysterious land that she had never been to. She was listening with moderate interest. In the end, she agreed and we opted to take daddy to a brunch at the Fruitlands Museum, which despite its name has little to do with fruit. Fruitlands is a unique little museum that includes a farmhouse, Quaker house, Native American musuem, and a small picture gallery. After eating, we decided to meander around the grounds. Unfortunately it was rainy, so we couldn't daudle too much outside. Kaylee made us realize quickly that she's quite capable of speaking in long complete sentences, and she has no distinction between a soft indoor voice and louder outside voice. I guess the last time we visited a quieter museum was before she could speak (or before she was confident enough to speak in public anyway). Interesting.
Due to poor weather conditions, our Fruitlands visit was cut short. Later we took a ride to Barnes and Noble, where Nick picked out a new book and Kaylee scored a sweet dinosaur sticker book. Sticker books are reletively new to Kaylee, so we were shocked to see Kaylee wearing her most serious face (indicating her concentration level) in her car seat, while pulling off several stickers and placing then on very specific pages. Toddlers are just amazing and hilarious. It's like going to the theatre sometimes. Well, not exactly like that, maybe more like a circus. It's been a long time since I've been to either, so I'm not sure, but you get the idea.
Oh, and in case you were wondering Kaylee also picked out some new clothes to give daddy for Father's Day. What a lucky dad! What dad doesn't want some new threads picked out by a toddler?
