There's not much to report for the last week. I took the week off (mostly). I did do two rowing workouts, but didn't run at all. Usually taking time off is difficult, but I've definitely been fighting something off and as a result I've been exhausted. The first rowing workout was on Thursday and afterward I almost regretted doing it. The workout went fine, but I felt sick later. I did the second workout on Saturday, and yeah I sorta felt sick after that one too. I think I'm feeling better, but I'm debating taking this week off too (easier said than done though). After this week, I'll be officially training for the BayState Marathon! Very exciting (at least to me)!I do have some disappointing news to share. Turns out someone made a boo-boo during the half marathon last weekend. The motorcycle leading the leader didn't actually know the course. Sigh. And made a wrong turn resulting in cutting the course short by 815 feet. Arg! I can't even begin to describe my initial irritation. Now my half marathon is a 12.955 mile course, and my pace changes from 7:09 to 7:14. The pace is still great for me, so I shouldn't be too upset. I still feel a little frustrated though. This was my PR (even if you add 65 seconds to account for the 0.155). I would have liked no controversy surrounding my PR, and can I even consider it a PR now? I feel like I need to run another one just to prove...I don't know, something. Oh well, I'll get over it within the week I'm sure. It's time to start my marathon training anyway, and I have big plans for that race!
On a lighter note, I did finally get some pictures from the race! And I even found some pictures of my parents during their race.

Katie, you had an amazing race. They messed up the course, not you. You could have run the 800 feet, maybe you would have even kicked it a bit. Regardless, it's your PR, you did it, be proud!
What program are you using for Baystate? I am doing an 18 week program. Good luck, Ana-Maria
Ana-Maria: Thanks! And next Tuesday I plan to post how I came up with my marathon schedule. ;)
You have your Dads stride. In the first picture both of your feet were off the ground. You look like were flyin not runin...
Mom
I'm with your mom. You look like you have your father's stride. What an awesome lineage to come from -- so inspiring!
