Meanderings of a toddler, my of way of saying that bits and pieces of Kaylee's weekly activities are worthy of sharing. Separately each item is not the stuff of posts. Of course combining each little piece into a single post creates a seemingly arbitrary set of events. Meanderings just sounds more interesting than "random stuff." So there you have it. Depending on how I feel, I might just decide to make this a weekly affair.
Just in...Kaylee video:
On more than one occasion, we've posted Kaylee videos. Here is yet another video of the Kaylee meister. Approximately 50 seconds long, it is definitely worth the time to watch. She's not doing anything crazy, just drinking some milk, and singing "the peanut song." Nick, the tough critic that he is when it comes to videos, thinks it's the best one yet.
Running with Nana:
Every once in a while, my mom comes over to run with Kaylee and me. (She's training for BayState too.) Well, this has become one of Kaylee's favorite topics of discussions. She'll say "Nana runs like this," and then starts running like crazy down the hall. She ends with a serious look and states matter of factly, "Nana runs fast." Also worth mentioning, every time we use the running stroller now Kaylee will say, "we're going to run with Nana today."
Grandma and Grandpa are in Seattle:
The last week or so Nick's parents have been in Seattle visiting Uncle Harold. We explained this to Kaylee, who has spent the week telling us, "Grandma and Grandpa are in Seattle visiting Grandma's brother." It may not sound that interesting, but it's funny to hear your 22 month old repeat such things. And she is sooo serious when she does it. That might just be the funniest part, her seriousness.
The Velveteen Rabbit:
Not really a favorite of ours, The Velveteen Rabbit has somehow found it's way into Kaylee's night time storybook pile. Per request, we've read it to her a few times. For whatever reason, she's memorized the first page. She will pull out the book, open it to the first page, and start "there once was a velveteen rabbit, in the beginning he was splendid, he had three whiskers, and ears with satin." Of course, this isn't exactly what it says, but it's pretty close. And can I just say watching her do it is hilarious. I'd try to video it, but I'm not sure that she'd cooperate.
Trying to have fun on Tuesdays

Being back at work full-time can be difficult. I'm still working from home
on Tuesdays though, and since I often wind up working more than eight hours

Tell Kaylee that I've missed running with her all this week. My runs are sooo much longer when there is nobody talking to me. By the way, did you know that Thomas the Tank Engine is in Carver, MA. Edaville railroad.
