Don’t get her angry. You won’t like her when she’s angry. When she transforms into baby hulk, her fury knows no bounds and her strength is magnified by a factor of ten. She could also be compared to Mr. Furious or the Killer Bunny. Take your pick. Why the random caparison to crazy fictional characters? Has Kaylee hit the terrible twos? Hardly. She never acts crazy with us. Not to say she doesn't have an occasional tantrum here or there, but that's nothing compared to baby hulk. Thursday Kaylee needed to have blood drawn. And wow. It was crazy. I did explain the situation to her before we left for the blood lab. Did she have any comprehension of the events to transpire? Nope. Not in the least. She was completely fine right up until the point someone tried to touch her. Strangers touching her must be the baby hulk trigger because that's when craziness ensued. The blood lab was quite good too. I held her the whole the time, and we took breaks to allow Kaylee to calm herself. Of course, she became calm as soon as people stopped touching her.
At one point there were four ladies in the room trying to help. And they continued to murmur "she's so strong" over and over. A sentiment that we receive anytime a medical professional tries to touch Kaylee in any way. I often wonder if she's actually stronger than other tiny tykes, or just more determined than most. I'd bet she just more determined. And when Kaylee belted out "Take it out! Take it out!" Well, they all looked a bit horrified. Apparently most of their toddler victims patients don't actually say much during the process. Seriously though, the staff was compassionate and patient through the process, but that was no consolation to Kaylee. After an hour of torture, some blood was drawn, and the staff gave me a "it might be enough." The same statement was made last time Kaylee needed blood drawn, and it wasn't enough then. We'll see.
Once we all determined enough was an enough, a nice staff lady brought Kaylee a stuffed salamander. Which she swatted away in fury. It seems the exchange of blood for a stuffed animal isn't a fair trade in Kaylee's mind. Good news though, once we left the lab baby hulk transformed back into baby Kaylee and all was right in the world; she was chatting and singing like nothing ever happened. She even decided the salamander was a nice toy once we got to the car. Below is a picture of Kaylee approximately 20 minutes later in the Barnes and Noble down the street. She looks tired, but fine otherwise. The second picture was taken about 10 minutes after leaving the book store. Yeah, transforming to baby hulk is exhausting.

Ah that's so sad! I rem. having my oldest's blood drawn fora condition she had when she was a toddler - around 2 - and we had to go every week. Oh my gosh! They would ask me to hold her down, and not only was it totally stressful to see her so upset and know I was holding her down but she was so strong!!
Kathy: Oh goodness, that must have been so hard. I think I'd have an ulcer if I had to take Kaylee every week!
